Bhilai Institute of Technology (BIT) was established in the year 1986 as the first Engineering College in Private Sector in the undivided State of Madhya Pradesh. Started in a very modest scale with four undergraduate courses in Engineering (B.E.) is now risen to catering MBA & MCA courses.

The Institutes are managed by a Board of Trustees headed by the Managing Trustee. The Trust comprises of leading duly constituted Governing Body consisting of the representatives of the Trust, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), State Government and Affiliating University. industrialists, senior bureaucrats, management experts, peoples’ representatives, and notable social workers. Day-to-day activities of the Institute are controlled and monitored by a board of trustees.
